Opening your own Palace can expose you to multiple dangers that may impair your project. If you keep it private, your risks are minimal but the day you go public it becomes a whole new ball game. I will explain some potential hazards and suggest simple solutions to better protect your Palace server. I can't make any warranties that this will cover every aspect of Palace security because there are no ways to be perfectly shielded against malicious attacks.

The other day I realised that Palace was missing something. You might think it has just about everything in the way of characters I mean there's flirts, snerts, liars, psychos, drunks and...and oh yeah...really nice normal people who like a chat. But Palace has a blind spot. I mean, where are all the service personnel? A Palace is a sort of virtual building after all. So where are the essential services? Where are the other classic characters?

      It has always been my perception that the whole palace community was suffering from an excess of paranoia and egotism that was manifesting itself by a chronic absence of the most basic social skills. Some known palaces even became a pitiful sight in their practice of fallacious rumors.

It was amazing to see how many guys suddenly turn out to be child molesters or abusers of all trends just by not being liked by those local wizards and gods. It would be tedious to try to understand the phenomena of social rejection on palace, but hatred never came bundled with the software and is a plague to the user&#8217;s global experience. Therefore, when communities.com went out of business, it became highly predictable that "thepalace" and everything related to it was going to suffer due to the erosion of its user base.
