java converting?

Hi,

I installed the web client for palace, but I was wondering is there a way to convert the java so that it also will work with the newer java? (like java from sun, etc)

Thats a good question, I did meet one guy on Palace who was going to make a new version of instant. But that was 2 years ago lol.

I did see a version of The Palace Viewer working, well connecting but completely one giant bugfest really. So for now my advice is: don't hold your breath. None of the developers seems very intrested in a new Java client.

the new Palace 3.6 client is pretty cute thought, you can check it out here:

http://www.palaceplanet.net/downloads/ThePalace.exe Its only the program, just put it in your Palace folder and run it.

Its only a newbiew friendly temp solution until the real replacements are finished. More on that later :P

Sounds good to me, let's wait till someone has a new version of the webbased palace...

However I have a small question about the Palace program:
How can you change to props and avatars in the program? So that if users download they have already other avatars then the standard ones :)

Personally, I thought that ALL web-based versions of the Palace were terrible! They were nothing but heavy applets that ran really slow. I would like to see something in the future (perhaps in Flash?) that would allow for web interface, since its a great way to get connected without downloading.
